A few months after I first started woodturning back in 2019, I splurged on quite a bit of exotic (to me) species, and one of these was Bhilwara. In fact, the bowl that these shavings came from was the subject of this YouTube video:
The shavings from this Bhilwara bowl sat drying in a paper bag on the shelf for nearly 5 years until I couldn’t ignore them any longer. As Bhilwara is a naturally dark wood, I decided to pair the shavings with dark resin with hint of silver pigment. The end effect is quite complex and interesting to look at! This piece is waterproof and measures approximately 7.25 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall.
