Spalted Maple Hollow Form with Dye Stabilization

This hollow form is made from spalted maple. It required some stabilization, which was the perfect opportunity to introduce black dye, which selectively absorbs into the wood, darkening the punky wood and leaving the hard wood in its natural state. This piece measures approximately 7 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall. It is a perfect accent piece or receptacle for dried flowers.
